XEOMIN: The Better BOTOX

XEOMIN

When most people think about products for wrinkle reduction, BOTOX® is usually the first to come to mind. However, BOTOX® isn’t the only injectable on the market; patients can now choose from several other available options.  Among these options is XEOMIN®, a product quickly gaining traction as the better BOTOX®. Like BOTOX®, XEOMIN prevents the formation of dynamic wrinkles brought on by facial muscles. Many patients aren’t sure how XEOMIN and BOTOX® differ, and before they make a decision, they want an answer to this question.

BOTOX® or XEOMIN®?

XEOMIN® is similar to BOTOX® in many ways, but it comes with some important differences. Like BOTOX®, XEOMIN® contains the same active ingredient in the same dosages. The major difference is that XEOMIN® leaves out many of the additives found in BOTOX®. When patients experience adverse reactions after receiving BOTOX®, it is almost always the additives causing the problems. Since XEOMIN doesn’t contain these additives, it is less likely to cause an allergic reaction in patients.

Another benefit to XEOMIN® is that unlike other injectables, patients have a much lower chance of growing immune to it. Over time, many patients may develop antibodies to counteract Dysport® and BOTOX®. Once this happens, the body will begin to reject these products, wiping out any future treatments. Since XEOMIN doesn’t contain as many ingredients, there isn’t much for your body to develop a resistance against. This leads to better, more repeatable results.

What Makes XEOMIN® Better?

Alternative options such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion can help reduce dynamic wrinkles, but treatments like these can be time-consuming. XEOMIN® generally takes no longer than 20 minutes and requires no downtime, meaning once the procedure is completed, patients can go back to their daily routine. XEOMIN® precisely targets wrinkles the patient wants to reduce, which can provide more desirable results than treatments that target the entire face.

An Effective Alternative to BOTOX®

With so many advantages that come with XEOMIN, it is no surprise that it is becoming such a popular alternative to BOTOX®. If you like the sound of an effective dermal filler that comes with fewer additives, a lower risk of an allergic reaction, and repeatable, satisfying results, XEOMIN® may be able to help you. Dr. DeStephens offers XEOMIN with professional and customized care in Gainesville. Schedule an initial consultation with our office in Gainesville to see if XEOMIN® is the right course of treatment for you.
